Toyoda Gosei is to axe its plant in the United kingdom.
“TGUK will now enter a formal time period of consultation with its workers concerning the proposed adjustments. The proposal is in reaction to continued adjustments in the worldwide automotive sector, and a important reduction in key United kingdom consumer need. Due to these adjustments, Toyoda Gosei does not foresee progress of its business there and has determined to make this proposal,” the supplier claimed in a statement.
The enterprise has taken previous ways to reorganise its business in Europe, selling its shares in a manufacturing subsidiary for automotive pieces in Germany in December 2019 and relocating some manufacturing to the principal European production site in the Czech Republic.
