Mercedes-AMG GT V8 4-Door returns: new look, suspension update

The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 and GT 63 S 4-Door Coupe have returned from their unanticipated hiatus sporting some aesthetic upgrades and revisions to their conventional air suspensions. The V8-driven GTs now share a nose with the array-topping E-Functionality hybrid design.

New wheel models are remaining provided along with a couple of added colours, and some of the exterior deals have been updated. Most notably, the Night time and Carbon Fiber deals can now be ordered on the same auto. Inside of, further coloration combos are readily available — including on the steering wheel — and more trim alternatives (these kinds of as open up-pore wood) are the major additions to the GT’s configurator.

The updates are not strictly visible. AMG’s engineers extra a next strain limiting valve to the V8 model’s common air suspension. Just one valve controls the rebound and the other controls the compression in the previous layout, each ended up controlled by a single valve. Identified as AMG Experience Management+, this engineering also keeps entire body roll in check out.

“This technologies will make it possible to boost comfort and ease on the a person hand, but on the other also to make the driving dynamics even sportier. As a final result, travellers are virtually entirely shielded from uneven highway surfaces,” Mercedes reported in its announcement.

If this all sounds familiar, do not fear, you are not crazy. Mercedes essentially announced the suspension updates very last calendar year together with some updates to the 6-cylinder GT. Since the V8 GT took a year off, we are having them for 2023 in its place.
