The robot assistants will be used to supplement human staff on showroom floors, and will guide clients, avoid bumping into cars, and display important information about new models. Hyundai earlier announced that the “DAL-e” would form part of its new “non-face-to-face marketing” approach, which is a reaction to the current global health crisis: robots can’t make you sick, unless they play Ed Sheeran songs on repeat.
The robots will ask customers to properly put their masks on and more. Hyundai Motor Group’s head of robotics lab Hyun Dong-jin says “DAL-e is a robot platform that is capable of providing customer services regardless of time. It will become a friendly messenger for customers.”
