Britishvolt has signed a Memorandum of Being familiar with [MoU] with Geely-owned British isles athletics auto maker Lotus to exhibit Britishvolt’s advanced lithium-ion battery cells.

The partnership will see Britishvolt and Lotus acquire a Lotus electric powered auto, powered by Britishvolt cells and with superior electrical propulsion systems made by Lotus.

Britishvolt maintains that, as in Formulation 1, this significant-general performance exploration and development will eventually cascade down to influence the electro chemistries of much more economical batteries and EVs.

Matt Windle, Lotus Automobiles Running Director, mentioned: “Lotus is delighted to be collaborating with Britishvolt to build new battery cell technologies to showcase the thrilling effectiveness that a Lotus EV athletics car can supply.

“These are the initially thrilling measures on the journey to an all-new electric powered sports activities vehicle from Lotus. Last yr we fully commited Lotus to a pure electric upcoming, and in the very first month of this yr we announce an additional major action on that journey. In the coming months we will be unveiling the Kind 132, an all-new and all-electric Lotus SUV and we’ve verified 3 additional EVs are on the way.”
