Bernd Pischetsrieder has replaced Manfred Bischoff as chairman of the Daimler supervisory board.
Bischoff stepped down at his own ask for after fourteen years as chairman.
The board proposed Pischetsrieder as Bischoff’s successor in December 2020. He has a long background in the automobile market, to start with with BMW, wherever he steered the sick-fated 1994 acquire of Rover Group which led to his departure in 1999 and then various posts in the Volkswagen Group and Scania. He joined the Daimler supervisory board in 2014.
Bischoff has been named honorary chairman of the supervisory board.
Shareholders also elected Elizabeth Centoni, main tactic officer and common supervisor of programs at Cisco Programs, Ben van Beurden, CEO Royal Dutch Shell , and Martin Brudermüller, chairman of BASF, to the supervisory board by a massive majority. They replaced Petraea Heynicke, and Juergen Hambrecht and Bischoff.
